What happens if you lie to your recruiter

I was denied entry due to my drug charge -- intent to distribute. Could my congressional representative write a letter so I could join the military? I was told by an Army SGT that it is possible. Please help me in this matter. Thank you. No branch will take you with a possession with intent to distribute. Doesn't matter what your age was or how long ago. Good to hear that you have turned your life around, but this is one mistake that the military will not overlook.

If I don't want to stay in the Navy, what are good ratings to increase my ability to get a job with either agency? If I can't be a CTI, what are some other ratings? If you are selected by the CIA, you will have to divulge all your financial information yearly , submit to a polygraph yearly , hold a pseudonym and more or less tell everyone you work for DoD or some other agency.

If you are considering a career with those agencies, you need a bachelor's I also think the minimum entry level for the FBI is 21 years old.

You may be primed for an agency job right after an enlistment is up. A couple of times, I've had allergic reactions to certain types of laundry soap. Haven't had any in the last years. Is that a potential setback? A reaction that is limited to itching or hives, but no respiratory or cardiac involvement, is not so serious.

However, if you get hives every time you have something common, such as -- for example -- milk or bread or aspirin, they will look twice, at least. Medication allergies are especially tricky. Given that your reaction, as described, is relatively mild, it may stress on may not be that much of a problem. Get documentation from your doc and take it to your recruiter and MEPS. I am considering joining the Army, however I do not know and have not been able to find in literature if visible tattoos would disqualify a person.

Are there any dress codes that restrict this, and if so, is it different in all branches? Thank you in advance. Each branch has slightly different rules when it comes to visible tattoos, and some of that depends on the job you have in the military.

As a general rule, as long as the tattoos aren't found to be offensive, then it generally isn't a problem. But you may want to call and talk to a recruiter about it. In accordance with AR Army -- wear and appearance of the Uniform, Chap 1 -- it specifies about tattoos on the body. You can get a waiver, or you may not need one -- provided that the tattoo is not offensive in any way.

Tattoos on the neck above your collar when you wear a regulation shirt, if it can be seen, is disqualifying. Tattoos anywhere that are racist, sexist or offensive in any way are disqualifying. If it is removed, though, then you won't have a problem. But I'm hanging in there!! I have positive hopes and know that the surgeon general is just really busy I guess I really shouldn't even start to get concerned until two months have passed? I'm not even sure how long waivers normally take.

My waiver took a little over three weeks, and it just went through so hang in [there]. It'll get done. It takes awhile. Good luck. Good luck with that. This whole joining process for me which began in December has definitely taught me patience, and to not get so worked up about everything and let things just happen.

I've done all I needed to do; now I just need to be positive and wait. Antidepressants are disqualifying for one year after you stop taking them. You must stop with your doctor's advice; do not stop on your own.

These medications often have to be reduced slowly to lower side effects and reduce risk of relapse. Once you are off and depression free for one year, get copies of your treatment paperwork, including therapy notes, and take them to your recruiter. They will submit the documents to MEPS for review. That's the only way they can correct a problem situation or a problem recruiter. If you can somehow locate the address or phone number of the recruiter's immediate commander, that's the best place to make your complaint.

Lying to an Air Force recruiter It disappoints me that I find a need to write this article, but based on the questions I get on this site as well as the weekly newbie threads at reddit. The possible punishments for fraudulent enlistment include: Dishonorable discharge this will follow you for life and make it very difficult to obtain any decent job Forfeiture of all pay and allowances this means you give back all of the money the government every paid you Confinement for two years jail Court martial and jailtime are extreme examples of course, most people with that fraudulently enlist will simply receive a general discharge.

But my recruiter told me to lie! How will they find out? You are injured or develop a medical condition that they suspect was a pre-existing condition, so they search through your medical records and find something. You get in trouble for something else and fraudulent enlistment is lumped into the charges. How often does it happen? Bottom Line Lying is wrong. You are the person who signs your enlistment documents.

You verify that your statements are true and accurate. You would be the person who could be dismissed from the military for a fraudulent enlistment and possibly be convicted of a felony. If your recruiter encourages you to lie, please ask if there are waivers for the issue at hand.

There are waivers for many disqualifying factors. You can get waivers for education, certain medical conditions, some legal or moral issues such as past drug use , and other factors. Note: Legal issues can be expunged or sealed. Some recruiters may tell you not to bother with a waiver because it may not be approved.

If your recruiter is pressuring you to lie, then look for another recruiter. There are several areas of the military application where it is easy to make mistakes, and several where you may think it makes sense to tell a lie. A MEPS doctor will review your application and medical history and recommend you for entrance to the military, or disqualify you based on your medical history.

There are two types of medical disqualifications — a permanent disqualification PDQ , and a temporary disqualification TDQ. It simply means the disqualifying condition is permanent. That surgery is permanent, even if you are healed.

That is where waivers come into play. Some medical conditions are eligible for waivers. A TDQ is a temporary condition.

An example could be a broken bone. But you may otherwise be eligible once it heals. I have a pre-existing medical condition that I know already is a PDQ, permanent disqualification but I am wondering if my condition is still waiverable.

I am hesitant on moving forward at this point because I am unsure if my condition is waiverable or not. I am in a slightly moral conflict because I do not want to lie on my application as far as the medical history or at all for that matter, even though my recruiter is essentially telling me to lie on my application. In reference to form Is it worth lying on any of the paperwork?

If it is found, then firstly, it is a dishonorable discharge for fraudulent enlistment ; then secondly, that will go with me for the rest of my life. This would be due to the fact of failure to disclose any and all information. I would assume no in this case because it would cause me to be constantly looking over my shoulder. Especially for thorough background checks for secret or top secret security clearances.

I would like to know if I am able to get a waiver for this situation and or how to go about doing it exactly?
